Let us recap the last few months.

I went to the Edmonton Folk Fest for the first time. I wanted to see Drayton Farley, Nick Shoulders, the Fruit Bats, and others, and I wasn’t disappointed.

I went to Saltspring to visit my brother and his family. They are wonderful people and I had a great trip. I also saw my Aunt and Uncle who live in Duncan.

I started my second year of my diploma. No accounting courses this semester, but hopefully I learn some other things.

I volunteered at Kaleido Fest. After my shift I sat first row in the Carrot and heard Kaeley Jade play a set. She was really good.

I got a plot started for next year in the community garden. So far I have a black-eyed Susan (pictured above), some tulip bulbs planted, and some other flowers.

I went to Zachary Lucky and Richard Inman at the Northern Lights Folk Club. I was so impressed I ended up with season tickets.

The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra started playing their fall to spring season. I always enjoy taking the train downtown and hearing some incredible music.

The Elks have closed the upper bowl of Commonwealth for next season, so I decided not to renew my season tickets. They were offering me a price increase for worse seats. I will find other things to spend my time and money on. I still like watching as many CFL games as possible on TSN.

I have bought studded tires for my mountain bike and intend on cycling year round. My understanding is that if I dress well I will stay warm, and that it is not vastly different than skiing.

I have been buying some plants at Zocalo, which is a florist on 95th street in McCauley. I find McCauley to be a very interesting neighbourhood, and it is only a fifteen minute walk from my house.

Next time I post I expect to be busy with snow shoveling, which will pay for my groceries this winter, and to be celebrating Christmas with my family after the semester concludes. Tomorrow I’d like to take some photos around Edmonton and watch the Grey Cup. Winnipeg is playing Montreal, and the Blue Bombers must be favoured to win. I’ll be cheering for Montreal, which is coached by former Edmonton coach Jason Maas. I’ll tell you how things went in my next post.

It was looking like winter was coming in fast and strong, but after a bit of snow in October it has been quite a pleasant November.
